Interactive dance workshop with Mason Manning / Interaktiver Tanzworkshop mit Mason Manning
Throughout my training and artistic practice, I have become aware of the tensions and stresses our bodies hold throughout the day. I begin each day by scanning my body mentally and beginning to re-sensitize my body to sensation and emotion. This is an improvisational exercise and can be done by everyone-not only dancers. This class will explore how we can use the power of imagery in our mind to reawaken our body to simple movements that take stress off of the body and get us more in touch with our full capabilities of movement as humans.
Mason Manning is from Dallas, Texas, and is a graduate of the Booker T. Washington High School for Performing and Visual Arts. During his apprenticeship, he was named a Texas Young Master in Dance by the Texas Cultural Foundation and honored with the National Young Arts Foundation's highest award for modern dance. Following his basic training, he studied dance at the Juilliard School before relocating to Germany to dance with Ballet im Revier under direction of Bridget Briener. Mason is now a full-time dancer with Richard Siegal/Ballet of Difference am Schauspiel Köln.
